  • The APA Performance Rated I-Joist (PRI) is an 'I'-shaped engineered wood structural member designed for use in residential floor construction and flat roof applications.

  • The product is prefabricated using machine stress graded lumber or laminated veneer lumber (LVL) flanges and wood structural panel webs bonded together with exterior adhesives.

  • The APA trademark signifies that the I-Joists are manufactured to strict quality standards by a member of Engineered Wood Systems (EWS), a related corporation of APA.

  • Specifiers and builders can select and use I-Joists from various APA EWS member manufacturers which all use the same set of design and installation criteria.

  • PRIs are manufactured in accordance with PRI-400, the US Performance Standard for APA EWS IJoists; and carry the approval of the British Board of Agrément (BBA).

  • Their allowable span is based on a deflection limited of 1/480 of the span - a feature which results in a stiffer floor.

  • PRI-400 offers product standardisation while providing for a choice of design and construction situations. It is easy to incorporate PRIs into your design because they can be selected on their allowable span for uniformly loaded floors.
