All nailing must meet the hanger manufacturer’s recommendations.
(A heavier gauge of nail is used for joist hangers to take account
of the increased loading.)
Select the hanger according to the joist depth, flange width and
load capacity based on the spans indicated in the load-span tables
- see Load Span Tables
Web stiffeners are required when the sides of the hangers do not
laterally brace the top flange of the I-Joist.
